Growing up!

I just registered Carson for kindergarten!  Can you believe it, he is going to school!?  I know he is ready, i know he will love it, but suddenly all the feelings i had when Emma went are all coming back!  What if he doesn't make good friends, what if they are mean to him, what if he doesn't like his teacher, what if he gets homesick and the worst thought/realization of all... there is no going back to him being little... and that i hate!

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

We are having some serious snow fall yesterday and today.  Tuesday we got about 15 inches and Wednesday morning we got about 4-6 inches.  We can not keep our driveway clear at all!  The best news thigh us that the last few snowfalls have been fluffy "sledding" snow, but today is a little more we and us packing better, making it "snowman" snow... the kids are going to be so excited when they get home from school.  The pictures are of Harry right before he went out to play on the snow and Carson to show the snow line is at his knees. 

Sparring

Yesterday in Carson's karate class they had a sparring day.  Each kid is matched up and they try to get points by (lightly) hitting the other on the padded areas.  I was very nervous, but Carson thought it was awesome.  He was matched up with a kid bigger then him (maybe 7 or 8) and he still managed to get a point off of him!  He is having a great time in his class and is learning quickly. 

Karate Kid

For Carson's 5th birthday we did a karate party and one of his gifts was karate lessons.  So this month we signed him up for a class at the American Fork Rec Center.  He is learning all the punches and kicks and loves to practice at home.  Today he passed his first of 4 tests to be eligible for the yellow belt.  He was very proud.  My favorite is his meditation stance. 

Carson's Eye Appt

At Carson's 5 year old check up he had a little trouble with the eye exam and our pediatrician suggested we see a pediatric ophthalmologist.  So today we went to his first eye appointment.  The doctor checked his eyes, dilated them and checked again, we looked at a lot of fun frames and had an okay time.  The doctor wants to see him back in a week to do a few more tests, I will update the blog when I find out what the outcome is.  But today we at least left the office with these fun glasses to help him while his eyes are dilated.  :)  he even shared them with Dallin.  :)
